Mile 60.6-70.6 (10 miles) (Town of Fairplay)
This morning we had planned to wake at 5 am to get to town as early as possible but I was soooo tired and snoozed the alarm until 6:30. Even then it was another half hour, a caffeine pill and some music before Henry got up.

We moved pretty fast, the morning was chilly and I hiked in my base layers, it was the absolute best hiking temperature. The landscape got more and more beautiful, huge snow capped mountains rising in the distance. I couldn't keep my eyes off of the view and stopped every few minutes to soak it in.

Dark clouds formed just as the road crossing came into view. We only waited about 10 minutes before getting a hitch- a guy in a skoolie pulled over as soon as he saw us. He dropped us off at the Western Mountain Inn where they let us check in early weeee!

Dropped our stuff in our room, walked to Family Dollar for some shampoo, conditioner, epsom salt and then picked up some takeout from Otto's. Sat on the bed, my filthy legs tucked under me and absolutely devoured my pulled pork sandwich. Henry showered first while I shoved all of our nasty laundry into a trash bag and headed down to start the washer. On the way back to the road I got a few funny looks from people sitting out in lawn chairs out front of their rooms. When I got back to the room and went to strip off my rain gear in front of the mirror I realized my Frogg Togg jacket is completely see through and you could clearly see my nipples. lol whoops.
It felt soooo good to scrub the stench and the dust from my skin in the shower. We relaxed in bed, I went down and switched our clothes over to the dryer. On my way back to the room the dark clouds finally let loose, the wind picked up and thunder rolled. Henry and I made love on the cool, clean sheets while the storm raged on and the curtains billowed from the open window. When our clothes were finished we headed to the grocery store and resupplied, soaked our feet in epsom salts, watched some of the Olympics and got fuel and tent stakes at the outfitter. Then fajitas at the Mexican restaurant for dinner. We took a bath together while eating Ben and Jerry's and stayed up til 11 watching a movie.
