Bone Broth Hot Chocolate

About the Recipe

When I heard of bone broth hot chocolate I was suspicious. The thought of mixing the two did not sound that appetizing to me, but then I tried it and... dang is it good. The scoop of collagen in this also gives it a somewhat foamy consistency after blending which kind of makes it taste like an actual barista made this. This is a great drink for your late luteal or menstrual phase. Bone broth is full of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium AND full of gut healing compounds like glutamine, collagen, glycine and proline.
Maca and cacao are some of my favorite staples no matter where I am in my cycle. Maca is a natural hormone balancer and libido enhancer. Cacao is full of magnesium, calcium and iron and is a natural mood booster, just like this whole ass drink is.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup organic bone broth

  • 1 cup organic plant based milk or raw milk (I used hazelnut)

  • 1 tbsp cacao

  • 1 tsp maca

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • dash of maple syrup for sweetness

  • optional: scoop of collagen powder

  • optional: coconut whipped cream topping

Preparation

Step 1

Add all ingredients to a blender, blend until combined.



Step 2

Heat blended ingredients on stovetop until warm. Top with optional whipped cream.
