Zero in Payson

Zero Day #2

I cannot believe we woke up at 6:30 a.m. on a day off but neither one of us could fall back asleep. Henry walked over and grabbed us some breakfast from the donut shop across the street and I happily laid in bed eating two chocolate glazed donuts and a boba tea. Later in the day we returned to Walmart to grab a few final things for our resupply, although it was hard to believe we could've forgotten anything in the amount of time we spent there last night.

Henry is on the search for new shoes too and we went to a sportsmen's store and found him a new pair of New Balance road shoes. Next stop Goodwill (is there anything better than a thrift store when you're thru hiking?) He bought a new button up shirt and I bought a trail dress because I always forget how much I love hiking in dresses. Back at the room I did some sink laundry- hard to believe those clothes were just washed in Superior lol.

Had a chocolate milkshake for lunch and took another shower. Facetimed Gagoo and Sawyer, then went to Chili's for dinner with Skully, a hiker Henry knows from the AT who just happens to be staying next door to us at the motel. I ate a steak and it was marvelous. On the way back to the room we dashed across the road dodging traffic in order to get to the DQ to buy a blizzard.

Back in the room I took an edible, a bath, and read my book- which is quickly becoming my favorite town day night cap.
